Why we say it

If it is true

If can help or harm anyone.

Misplaced words can hurt

They can change the course of events

They can ruin thoughts,

Moods, spirits

Situations, narratives

That otherwise, had a reason to be.

Things we say are can be damaging

Or they can be inspiring

They can devastate

Or build

Things we say matter

And if they don’t matter,

Perhaps

They shouldn’t be said at all.
